California poet, Robinson Jeffers' home has been listed as a national landmark and is open to the public. Patrons can tour Tor House and Hawk Tower, and wander in the surrounding gardens. The foundation is composed of volunteer members whose duties are to sponsor events and publish materials that will preserve and extend the cultural and literary legacy of Robinson Jeffers, poet of California.

First Murphy House is preserved by the Heritage Society and was constructed by Michael J. Murphy in 1902 as his initial architectural feat. Murphy built many more houses and structures in the area and by doing this significantly shaped the architecture of Carmel. It is open to the public Wednesday through Sunday from 1pm to 4pm.
